About Bonham Tree Scholarship
Purpose & Background
Since 2019, many Hong Kongers dispersed around the world have hoped to continue the identity of the Hong Kong nation. The 'Bonham Tree Scholarship' came into being, aimed at nurturing outstanding young leaders to promote the development of democracy and human rights, and to continue the transmission of Hong Kong culture. It aims to cultivate a young generation with a mission to revive the values of freedom and democracy, thereby building a solid force to defend human rights and democracy. We sincerely invite like-minded companions to join us in constructing a blueprint for inheriting Hong Kong culture and identity.
Hong Kong needs the next generation to inherit our original values of freedom, democracy, and human rights. This scholarship will:
Assist award recipients in building a network of connections, enabling the transfer of resources and valuable experiences from various sectors to the new generation.
Encourage and support award recipients in implementing their personal projects, addressing the needs of local Hongkongers, and ensuring connections are maintained both domestically and abroad, so that Hong Kong compatriots are no longer isolated.
